Dominik Mysterio to quit WWE, huge SummerSlam challenge to Roman Reigns, babyface turn? 5 bold predictions ahead of The Biggest Party of The Summer
WWE is heating up once again, with SummerSlam next on the Premium Live Event calendar. Several feuds look set to culminate at The Biggest Party of The Summer, which takes place on August 3 in Cleveland, Ohio.
But what will happen in the build on RAW and SmackDown? Expect some huge moments to spice up the Road to SummerSlam, including multiple teases, turns, and even a few WWE Superstars walking away.
So, let's look at five massive twists that could happen ahead of the August supershow:
#5. Dominik Mysterio quits WWE because of the Liv Morgan-Rhea Ripley saga
Rhea Ripley's WWE return on RAW could lead to many different possibilities. For now, Dominik Mysterio is in the doghouse due to his (unintentional?) involvement with Liv Morgan. He failed to convince Mami to forgive him, which suggests Dirty Dom could get desperate in the coming weeks.
If the situation doesn't improve, Ripley's constant rejections could drive Mysterio to quit WWE, as he doesn't see the point in wrestling without Mami on his side. This would add further drama to the Women's World Title storyline, with the match likely happening at SummerSlam.
Dominik Mysterio can then return at The Biggest Party of The Summer, where he will reveal where his loyalties lie. It can go either way from there, but Dirty Dom going away for a few weeks would cause a lot of intrigue for Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan at the upcoming Premium Live Event.
#4. Damian Priest completes his babyface turn
No matter what happens with Dominik Mysterio, this seems like a real possibility. Damian Priest has been hinting at a babyface turn for weeks, and now that Rhea Ripley is back, he could complete his transition in time for SummerSlam.
While one would expect Priest to turn face after losing the World Heavyweight Championship, it should happen during his reign. El Campeon needs to clearly be defined as a good guy before his match against Gunther at SummerSlam.
So, while the rest of The Judgment Day stays heel and potentially sides with Liv Morgan, expect Damian Priest to turn babyface. It's the natural course of events, at this point.
#3. A-Town Down Under breaks up
Just like Damian Priest's face turn, this seems inevitable. WWE has been hinting at tension between Grayson Waller and Austin Theory for a while now, with it becoming less subtle every week. Now that Theory and Waller aren't Tag Team Champions anymore, it seems like the right time to split them up.
It could happen at any point in the next few weeks, potentially as soon as this Friday. Waller could berate Theory, ultimately causing the former United States Champion to attack his Australian mate. However, from that point, it remains to be seen how well Austin Theory does as a babyface.
#2. Chad Gable quits too, but not for long
Chad Gable's life is in danger.
At least that's what it seems like every week on RAW, ever since the Wyatt Sicks arrived in WWE. Gable has been the primary target of Uncle Howdy's crew and their mind games. The Olympian even asked Adam Pearce for a vacation this week. So, whether or not he is granted one, expect Master Gable to try to escape the Wyatts.
Inspired by Dominik Mysterio quitting, as per our first prediction, Chad Gable can walk away from RAW as well. This would, of course, lead to Wyatt Sicks haunting him at his house. It could make for entertaining television ahead of a potential match at SummerSlam.
#1. Solo Sikoa challenges Roman Reigns to return at SummerSlam and acknowledge him
It's all but guaranteed that Solo Sikoa will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. The new Tribal Chief pinned The American Nightmare at Money in the Bank one night after calling out Roman Reigns and taking shots at him.
In the build-up to SummerSlam, Solo will likely amp up his trash-talking, particularly towards Reigns. Confident of dethroning Rhodes, he may even invite The Big Uce to the event to personally acknowledge him as The Tribal Chief. This would guarantee Roman Reigns' return, instantly making Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa an even bigger match.
While it seems obvious that SummerSlam will end with Reigns coming back to confront Solo, WWE might as well subtly confirm that it is happening. That way, the show has an added sense of anticipation and intrigue over who will win the main event. That depends on where The Bloodline's story is heading, but Roman Reigns should be at SummerSlam either way.
