Dudley Boyz on Smackdown

– The Dudley Boyz have been one of the most decorated tag teams in the WWE. They made their return this year to the WWE after a 10-year hiatus.

The Dudley Boyz have been eagerly waiting for their 10th Tag Team Championship and in a candid chat with Chris Jericho on Talk is Jericho opened up about various topics such as ECW, their relationship with Vince McMahon, leaving the WWE and more.

On Vince McMahon

Chris Jericho asked Dudley Boyz about working with Vince McMahon and their relationship with him. They said that they have immense respect for Vince McMahon and that they will always feel that way.

They added that Vince has the same respect for them and has an open door policy, which they never disrespect and always abide by.

On Mae Young

The Dudleyz were famous or more appropriately put, infamous for Powerbombing 80-year-old Mae Young through a table. Mae Young was a professional wrestler and in one of the spots Bubba Powerbombed her through a table jumping off the stage.

They said that Mae Young has been the toughest person they have ever met. To be a lady of 80 and to be Powerbombed was a mean feat. They also added that she was so crazy she wanted to get Powerbombed through the table from the top of a steel cage.

On leaving ECW for WWE

Chris Jericho asked them about leaving ECW for WWE. Bubba said that it wasn't hard for him, unlike Dvon. Dvon said that he got cold feet soon after WWE called.

They took advice from Paul Heyman about their move to the WWE even though the ECW bosses were not too happy with the whole WWE deal. Bubba said that as soon as they met the WWE officials, they knew that they belonged in the WWE and there was no turning back.

On leaving WWE

The Dudleyz were asked about leaving WWE and their return this year. They said that the last time they appeared was in 2005 on RAW.

They were asked to take a vacation which they needed and were supposed to come back after 3-4 months. But after repeatedly working week in and week out for 6 straight years they thought of taking an extended break.

They added that they left on their own terms with no bad blood between them and the WWE.
