Elimination Chamber 2013: A 6-man tag team match on the cards?
It was confirmed in RAW last week that the WWE title match will be a singles match and not an Elimination Chamber match that many of us were dying to see The Rock in. While that sounds extremely disappointing, we still can expect two chamber matches in this year’s Elimination Chamber PPV.
With Rock’s heavy schedule and concerns for his health, WWE has very wisely not put him in a chamber match but Del Rio will be seen defending the title within the chamber which is somewhat satisfying. However, an Elimination Chamber PPV without two stipulation matches will definitely be incomplete and hence we can all be assured of seeing another match inside this mammoth structure. So, who is going to be part of the second chamber match?
Everyone knows the Shield has been causing a lot of havoc lately. This group put on a hell of a match in TLC and we haven’t seen them wrestle after that. It would be great to see them again in a match and that too in a match inside the chamber.
The Shield attacked John Cena this week on RAW, quite clearly because they feel Cena winning the Royal Rumble is unjust (in fact, so do I). With regard to Cena, after winning the Royal Rumble, he does not have any role to play in the WWE title picture now as Punk and Rock are going to be in a Championship match. This means the Leader of Cenation does not have much to do in this PPV and he is well available to teach the Shield a so-called lesson.
WWE can create history this Elimination Chamber by having the first 6 man tag team Elimination Chamber match between the Shield, Cena and two other possible contenders. So, who could these two other wrestlers be?
The first obvious choice is Ryback. More often than not, Ryback has been denied the WWE title because of the Shield. So, it is more than relevant to see the rampant monster in the chamber. Ryback was also seen going against the Shield whenever they were out delivering justice and hence, it is accepted now that Ryback will be a part of the team.
The second choice could either be Sheamus or Randy Orton. Both these wrestlers have been under constant attack from the Shield and Sheamus seems to be the most preferred wrestler for this group. The only reason why Randy Orton won’t be a part of this is because he will be a part of the other chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
So, if all my predictions are right, we will get to see a 6-man tag team match in the chamber for the first time ever in the next PPV. As for the result of the match, it is quite obvious that the trio of Cena, Ryback and Sheamus will pick up the victory to give the Shield a much deserving lesson. However, if the WWE want to portray the Shield as a destructive force, they could give them an unprecedented victory due to the interference of Brock Lesnar, who could then reveal to everyone that he is the leader of the Shield.
I for one, would love to see this match and would love it even more if the Shield picked up the victory due to interference from Brock. However, it is all in the hands of the creative team and if not this, hopefully they have a betterĀ surpriseĀ in store for us.
