Female WWE star to revive The Fiend gimmick by bringing back former Universal Champion? Chances explored
A very interesting union between two WWE Superstars might be in the works. It's between two names who are out of action these days.
The superstars are Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman. Both have been absent from TV for some time. While Strowman hasn't been seen since the September 30 edition of RAW, where he faced Bronson Reed in a Last Monster Standing match, Alexa Bliss hasn't been around since Royal Rumble 2023.
However, the company might bring these two together and revive a popular gimmick. Alexa Bliss could script her return with Braun Strowman in a new avatar of The Fiend (Bray Wyatt's alter-ego).
The former RAW Women's Champion has a deep connection with The Fiend gimmick. She was involved in the storyline from 2021 to 2022. The Goddess of WWE betrayed The Fiend at WrestleMania 37 in a match against Randy Orton. She later said that she no longer needed The Fiend and subsequently introduced her new friend, a demonic doll named Lilly.
Her storyline with Bray Wyatt was reintroduced in late 2022 with a new character, Uncle Howdy, but it was stopped midway after Wyatt took some time off due to real-life illness. He died of a heart attack on August 24, 2023, and the storyline was dropped.
Alexa Bliss can revive The Fiend's character by bringing Braun Strowman along. They later pit themselves against Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas) and Nikki Cross of The Wyatt Sicks. As the Wyatt Sicks are currently in a bitter feud with The Final Testament, Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman can interfere in the storyline, take down some members from Wyatt Sicks, and help Kross and company win this battle against Sicks.
This might later lead to a feud between Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas) and The Fiend (Braun Strowman), with Bliss and Cross on their partner's sides.
When will Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman return to WWE?
If the company intends to revive The Fiend character, then the two should return together. However, it might take a bit longer for Alexa Bliss to return as there are reportedly no creative plans for her.
Recently, a PWInsider report suggested that the former RAW Women's Champion will not return anytime soon, at least until the Holiday season, and that her return could only happen in 2025.
Bliss, however, teased her return to WWE on her X account with a caption, “Don’t worry, Darling. I'll see you soon enough.”
As for Braun Strowman, The Monster of All Monsters has been out of action due to a torn groin injury he suffered during his match against Bronson Reed on WWE RAW. It remains to be seen if he and Alexa Bliss will mark their return together.
