Former AEW champion to make WWE debut and take over the LWO by kicking out Rey Mysterio? Speculating potential move

Rey Mysterio is in the middle of a feud with Chad Gable, and their respective factions, LWO and American Made, are also getting involved. Gable cost the WWE Hall of Famer and Dragon Lee a shot at the World Tag Team Title a few weeks ago, and the two sides have been battling each other since then.

Amid his feud with Chad Gable, though, Rey Mysterio might have to deal with a new rival soon. This rival is former AEW World Tag Team Champion Penta El Zero Miedo. According to a report from Fightful, Penta will become a free agent next week, as his contract with AEW expires, and the two sides have decided to go separate ways.

The report states that WWE will approach him once he becomes a free agent, meaning that if he reaches a deal with the Stamford-based company, he could show up on Monday Night RAW soon.

If that is the case, a storyline with Rey Mysterio could be the perfect way for his debut. Penta could show up and confront the WWE Hall of Famer, eventually kicking him out of the faction and taking over. In that case, the rest of LWO could have a heel turn, with Rey keeping his babyface character.

On this occasion, the two could have a match either on the RAW premiere on Netflix or at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, where Rey could have help from his son Dominik Mysterio, who is teasing an exit from The Judgment Day amid tension with Finn Balor.

Rey Mysterio wants to reunite with his son Dominik

It has been quite a while since the father-son rivalry started, and Rey Mysterio is hopeful it will end soon. The former World Champion and his son Dominik Mysterio's feud started more than two years ago (Clash at the Castle in September 2022), and it is unknown when it will end.

In an interview with Cheap Heat, the WWE Hall of Famer said he was hopeful he would reunite with his son.

"That’s something that, as a father, they would always love to have with their kids, to be able to reconnect and end off how you started, on the good side. I don’t know if that’s going to happen. Over the years, people change, sometimes for good and sometimes for bad. Hopefully, one day, Dom can see the bright side of being on the Mysterio side and being family overall. I think it’s going to be very hard," Rey said. [h/t ITR Wrestling]

Until this happens, Mysterio will continue his feud with Chad Gable and could start a new one with Penta should the latter join WWE.
