Former champion could turn face for the first time in more than a year to partner with Raquel Rodriguez on WWE SmackDown
Liv Morgan is currently sidelined due to injury and has been forced to relinquish her WWE Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Raquel Rodriguez.
A new champion will be crowned on RAW following Night of Champions 2023. But ahead of the show, Rodriguez is forced to find a partner to take on Damage CTRL next week on SmackDown.
In recent weeks, the WWE Universe has spotted several clues that Damage CTRL could have some internal issues. It could all come to a head next week if Dakota Kai is revealed as Rodriguez's partner.
Bayley noted this week on SmackDown that Dakota Kai was suffering from an injury, which was why she was absent. But that could be a cover for the fact that The Role Model has lost control of her faction, and Kai has decided to leave.
There have been several teases about Kai's exit from the faction. She has dropped numerous clues in backstage interactions with Bayley and IYO SKY throughout the year.
Dakota Kai is a tag team specialist in WWE
Dakota Kai would be the perfect person to align with Rodriguez since she is a tag team specialist and knows Damage CTRL better than anyone else.
Kai turned heel on her friend Tegan Nox back in 2019 in what was one of the biggest shocks in NXT history. Following the betrayal, she became one of the brand's best heels before turning face in March 2022.
Following her return to WWE at SummerSlam last year, she has reverted to her heel persona. However, it could now be time for her to join forces with Rodriguez, turn face, and prove that she is the breakout star of Damage CTRL after months of pushing for opportunities.
