Former MITB winner to dethrone Sami Zayn in Toronto? Exploring potential decision that can leave Chad Gable furious
This week, Sami Zayn announced that he is looking for a new challenger for the Intercontinental Championship. Having beaten Chad Gable at Clash at the Castle, Zayn made it abundantly clear that Gable is done getting chances for his title. This obviously angered the leader of the Alpha Academy. But, could he become more furious if a former Money in the Bank winner challenges and dethrones the Canadian in Toronto?
The former Money in the Bank winner in question is Otis. On this week's episode of RAW, the 330lb star, who won the MITB briefcase in 2020, officially left the Alpha Academy alongside Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri. It was the ultimate betrayal in Chad Gable's eyes, who vowed that he would humiliate his now former star pupil. But, there is a chance that the opposite could happen, and Otis is the one who humiliates his former "master" by challenging and beating Sami Zayn at Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada.
Sami Zayn may be done with Chad Gable, but he definitely still holds an interest in the Alpha Academy. In particular, he seems keen on making sure that Otis fulfills his true potential. Well, he might just decide to help him with that, by giving him the chance to challenge him at Money in the Bank. And, should Otis prevail, it's safe to say that Gable will not be too happy about it.
Right now, Zayn's future opponent seems to be Bron Breakker. Last night's episode of RAW showed that WWE is leaning in that direction. However, there is a chance that they could do a complete 180, and throw Otis in the title picture. That said, this is all just mere speculation, and there is no telling what's in store for any of the superstars involved.
Chad Gable is ready to show Otis and Sami Zayn what he is capable of at Money in the Bank
Chad Gable is definitely still seething over his loss to Sami Zayn and the betrayal of Otis and the Alpha Academy. However, he has now turned his focus to bigger and better things. In particular, he plans on becoming the next Mr. Money in the Bank and doing what Otis couldn't do before, becoming a world champion.
Otis lost his Money in the Bank briefcase to The Miz at the 2020 Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event after his former Heavy Machinery partner betrayed him. The A-Lister went on to cash in his contract on Drew McIntyre at the 2021 Elimination Chamber.
Gable plans on doing this by of course climbing the ladder and taking the briefcase in Toronto. But, to accomplish that, he must first get through the qualifying round. This won't be an easy task, as he is scheduled to take on both Braun Strowan and Bronson Reed next week in a Triple-Threat Match.
If Gable succeeds, he will definitely be one of the favorites to capitalize on this opportunity. But, only time will tell if he gets his chance to outshine both Otis and Zayn.
