Former teammates, long-time enemies - 8 current WWE rivals who are close friends in real life
WWE Superstars are on the road for much of the year together and often choose their travel buddies, becoming close friends with many co-workers.
While WWE Superstars often make headlines for their real-life rivalries, some have feuded against their best friends on TV and even locked horns with them inside the ring. Sharing the screen as adversaries usually enhances the chemistry of numerous performers who are buddies outside the company.
The following list looks at eight current WWE rivals who are close friends outside of the ring.
#8 & #7 Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns' rivalry dates back several years and resurfaced at WrestleMania XL when the former cost Roman Reigns his Undisputed WWE Universal Title in the main event.
Rollins and Reigns have been feuding for almost a decade, but in real life, the former Shield members have been close friends throughout their time in WWE. The Visionary took The Tribal Chief under his wing when they were put together in The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose.
In an interview, Reigns had the following to say about his real-life equation with Rollins and Ambrose:
"We talk here and there. Especially with Seth having a new baby and stuff, and I have so many kids. It’s funny because they’re just getting their first one. I have five kids, so I have a legitimate household here. I don’t have any time to spare. If I’m not deeply involved in parenting, I’m in the gym or I’m working within the creative process of wrestling. Me and Seth were texting back and forth a few weeks ago. Me and Jon [Ambrose] text a little more sporadically."
It will be interesting to see if The Tribal Chief will target Rollins after his return to WWE.
#6 & #5 Liv Morgan and Natalya
Liv Morgan seemingly turned heel this past week on WWE RAW when she was held responsible for the attack on Rhea Ripley. This has led many fans to believe that Morgan could go on to win the vacant Women's World Championship tonight on RAW.
One woman who stands in her way is Natalya. The Queen of Harts and Morgan have been close friends for many years and appeared on Total Divas together. The Canadian star and her husband Tyson Kidd have even trained Morgan at their Dungeon.
#4 & #3 AJ Styles and Karl Anderson
AJ Styles turned heel several weeks ago and is now the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. After embracing his dark side, Styles turned his back on Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, as he had a heated backstage confrontation with the duo.
It seems that The O.C. no longer includes AJ Styles and the company is expected to circle back to this feud at some point. Although Styles and Anderson are at odds on TV at the moment, they have been good friends for most of their adult lives.
#2 & #1 WWE RAW Superstars Maxxine Dupri and Nia Jax
Maxxine Dupri has been a prominent babyface throughout her time on RAW as a member of The Alpha Academy. However, it seems that she is close friends with several heels on the red brand.
Nia Jax recently returned as a monstrous heel in the women's division, but Dupri has been uploading several videos on social media with the former Women's Champion.
Chelsea Green and Maxxine Dupri are also close friends outside of the ring and many fans have been pushing for the two to come together as a tag team in the future. All three women will be competing to become Women's World Champion tonight on RAW.
