From the Impact Wrestling Rumor Mill: Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion to depart the company?

Let's hope these rumours are just rumours!
Let's hope these rumours are just rumours!

What's the story?

When you think TNA or any of its current iterations like Impact Wrestling/GFW, the one name that has been a mainstay has been 'Cowboy' James Storm. It's rumoured that his present stint in the company will come to an end very soon.

According to PWInsider, the next set of tapings in Canada, could be the very last appearances for Storm.

In case you didn't know...

Impact Wrestling has been on a cost-cutting spree right now, with several Superstars parting ways with the company. The latest to leave was referee Brian Hebner.

James Storm has been a huge part of TNA's history, primarily as a member of America's Most Wanted and Beer Money Inc. He has a record number of tag team title runs, and even held the top title in the company.

It is being rumoured that he too will be part of the exodus from the company after his appearance at Bound for Glory.

The heart of the matter

From what we understand, Storm's contract runs out in January 2018. There is no update with regard to whether or not he will be signing another contract with the company. If Storm does not sign a contract, he could be the next man to depart from Impact Wrestling.

Leading up to Bound for Glory, Storm is an integral part of the mix as he'll be in the big 6 man tag team match planned for the event. Impact will be taping in Canada, and Storm is expected to stay until these tapings are done.

What's next?

Gear up for 'Bound for Glory' on November 5th as James Storm teams up with Eddie Edwards and EC3 to take on Team AAA in a match for the honour of their brands.

Author's take

I've interacted with the Cowboy twice in the past, and he might just be the nicest guy in wrestling. It'll be a shame to not see him in the Impact Wrestling ring, if these rumours are true.

The only exception is if he's bound for NXT, and eventually towards a Beer Money Inc. reunion with "The Glorious One" Bobby Roode.
