From the WWE Rumor Mill: Possible stipulation for WrestleMania tag team match

This would definitely add to the anticipation of this match

What's the story?

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been rumoured to be facing Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon at WrestleMania in just over two weeks time, but it seems that this won't be a straightforward tag team match.

In case you didn't know...

The issues between the four superstars have been building ever since last year's Hell in a Cell event with Zayn and Owens' jobs being threatened on more than one occasion.

Last week on SmackDown Live, the duo attacked Commissioner Shane McMahon after he had already announced their WrestleMania match against each other, and as a result, they were fired from the brand by General Manager Daniel Bryan on Tuesday night.

Bryan was then also attacked by the duo, just hours after it was finally revealed that he had been medically cleared to compete for the first time in more than two years.

Owens and Zayn's profiles have since been moved over to the alumni section of WWE.com and Owens has gone back to using his Kevin Steen name on Twitter, so it seems that the duo is following through on the storyline on social media.

The heart of the matter

Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon is also wrestling in a tag team match at WrestleMania, so it seems that the company could be hoping to shake her brother's match up a little by adding a stipulation to one of the most anticipated matches of the night.

Bryan Alvarez discussed the possible tag team match for WrestleMania in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer and revealed that he thinks that the company could add a street fight or unsanctioned stipulation to the match just to make it a little bit more interesting.

He also speculated that the company would keep Owens and Zayn's recent firing as part of the storyline until the Superstar Shakeup, where it is believed that they will be drafted over to Monday Night Raw.

What's next?

The build-up to their match will continue over the next two weeks, with the rumoured tag team match set to be announced imminently.

Author's take

If Daniel Bryan has been cleared enough to be able to take part in an unsanctioned match against the two men who beat him down on Tuesday night, then there is no reason why WWE shouldn't do it. Since Owens and Zayn are fired already if WWE wants them to remain fired, then why would they adhere to the rules anyway?

It will be interesting to see how the company is able to convince the duo to do the match with no added stipulation that they could get their jobs back, but everything will become clearer in the coming weeks.
