From the WWE Rumor Mill: Rey Mysterio's training his son to wrestle

What's the story?

Rey Mysterio is only 42-years-old but he's been through a lot in his career. As he looks onward toward the next steps of his amazing time in the ring he is putting his priorities in order and PW Insider reports he is going to be focusing on his son's career.

In case you didn't know...

During 2004-2005 Rey Mysterio had a historic feud with Eddie Guerrero. During this rivalry, Eddie went around saying Rey's real-life son Dominic was actually his.

The two fought in a vicious feud to determine who Dominc's real father was. During that time, Eddie's catchphrase "I'm your Papi" caught on like wildfire and sold a ton of merchandise.

Well, Dominic is all grown up now and it looks like he's wanting to follow in his father's footsteps, regardless of whether his biological father is Guerrero or Mysterio.

The heart of the matter

Rey Mysterio has been in a career transition recently as he looked to be talking to both WWE and GFW at the same time about coming in to work for them. Reports are negotiations with both GFW and WWE have fallen though but that won't stop Mysterio from doing what he needs to do.

PW Insider reports the word going around is Rey Mysterio is going to focus on training his son Dominic to become a pro wrestler. Dominic is twenty-years-old now so he's not the same little boy we once saw on WWE television thirteen years ago.

What's next?

If Dominic has any of the ability his father does then he very well might eventually be lighting up the pro wrestling world. He needs the proper training, but that is something Rey Mysterio can certainly provide. Who knows if WWE might be looking to sign another second generation Superstar soon?

Dominic has grown up a lot but that's what time does. If Rey Mysterio can focus his efforts in training his son to be the best he can be in pro wrestling who knows what might be down the line for him.
