What's the story?

Ronda Rousey has only had one competitive WWE match since she made her debut back in January and now the number one contender to the Raw Women's Championship could be set to wrestle on an upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw.

In case you didn't know...

Nia Jax recently challenged Rousey to her first singles match for the Women's Championship at Money in the Bank in a few weeks time and the former UFC Champion accepted. Rousey has been a driving force in the Women's Division ever since she first appeared at the Women's Royal Rumble earlier this year, but she hasn't yet been able to wrestle in a sanctioned match on WWE's flagship show.

Rousey is someone that the company is going to be pushing to the top of the Division in the coming months, but in order for that to happen, Rousey needs to be able to wrestle.

The heart of the matter

Rousey is currently part of a storyline with Natalya on Monday Night Raw, but will now start to push towards Nia Jax and her Women's Championship. However, according to WKBW in Buffalo, Rousey is set to wrestle on the Raw episode live from The KeyBank Center in Buffalo New York on July 16th.

The following excerpt was shared courtesy of RingsideNews:

"Former UFC star Ronda Rousey will make her Buffalo wrestling debut, as WWE Monday Night Raw returns to the Queen City this summer.
WWE RAW superstars such as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will wrestle in Buffalo on July 16th at 7:30 p.m."

What's next?

Rousey wasn't part of this week's Raw from London because she was attending NBC Upfronts, but given that she now needs to begin the build to Money in the Bank next month, she should be part of all of the upcoming episodes.

Author's take

Rousey was set to be pushed as an attraction when her signing was first announced and she more than followed up on the hype with her WrestleMania debut.

Given that she's a full-time star unlike Brock Lesnar, she was always going to need to wrestle on Raw at some point, and it appears that the WWE Universe in attendance in Buffalo in two months time will definitely in for a treat.
