From the WWE Rumor Mill: WWE could be set to move SummerSlam 2019 out of Brooklyn

SummerSlam may be changing location
SummerSlam may be changing the location

What's the story?

SummerSlam has taken place live, from Brooklyn New York for the past four years and has been the location of the first four NXT Takeover: Brooklyn events the night before SummerSlam, ever since the event made its debut in 2015. But, it seems that the location for Summerslam 2019 will not be Brooklyn.

In case you didn't know...

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn back in 2015 was where Bayley defeated Sasha Banks for the NXT Women's Championship and set the bar for the events that have followed. The event is due to take place the night before SummerSlam again this year, once again from Brooklyn and it was thought that The Big Apple had SummerSlam on lockdown for the foreseeable future.

The last time SummerSlam took place outside of The Barclay's center in New York was back in 2014 when the event was streamed live from The Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.

The heart of the matter

Following the announcement that WrestleMania 35 will take place at the Metlife Stadium in New York, New Jersey it seems that this has had an impact on WWE's usual SummerSlam weekend in Brooklyn.

Wrestlevotes on Twitter have broken a number of stories over the past few months and once again the account is reporting that WWE could be moving their 'Biggest Party' of the Summer over to an MLB Stadium instead.

Of course, this is complete speculation right now, but, it is highly unlikely that WWE would present WrestleMania and SummerSlam from two locations that are so close together.

What's next?

WWE recently announced the location for WrestleMania 35, so the location for next year's SummerSlam will be in the pipeline to be released publically in the coming months.

Author's take

Brooklyn has been home for the NXT roster in recent years and, it has created some of the most memorable moments for many of the developmental talents. Despite this, it seems that both NXT and SummerSlam will be moving to a new location this year and will be looking to make just as big of an impact on a fresh ground next year.
