From the WWE Rumor Mill: Either AJ Styles or Kevin Owens may be injured

What's the story?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, either Kevin Owens or WWE United States Champion AJ Styles may be suffering from a minor injury.

In case you didn't know...

Both AJ Styles and Kevin Owens are two of the top guys on the SmackDown Live roster.

Owens is currently feuding with the McMahon family and after destroying Vince McMahon on SmackDown last week, he will face Shane McMahon at WWE Hell In A Cell inside the demonic structure that the PPV gets its name from.

AJ Styles is the WWE United States champion. He won the title from Owens at Madison Square Garden and will defend it against Baron Corbin tomorrow on SmackDown Live.

The heart of the matter

Dave Meltzer, on Wrestling Observer Radio, said that there was a chance that either Owens or Styles could be banged up because their matches in Hawaii and Osaka only lasted a couple of minutes.

Meltzer said:

"I don't know what's going on with AJ and Owens, but they worked really short matches - like 6 minutes or 7 minutes so something's up with one of them. It could be the headbutt for all I know.

What's next?

AJ Styles will face Baron Corbin this week on SmackDown with his US Championship on the line. Owens will face the fury of the McMahon family after his brutal and cowardly attack on Vince McMahon of Sin City SmackDown.

Author's take

There is no official word on any injury and Meltzer is making an educated guess although, with Meltzer's expereince, he may well end up being right. As far as an injury is concerned, even if it's true, it can't be too serious because neither man was take off the road.
