From the WWE Rumor Mill: AJ Styles to get next 365 Documentary

The Phenomenal One is getting some recognition soon
The Phenomenal One is getting some recognition soon

What’s the story?

Following the success of WWE 365 Kevin Owens, AJ Styles is slated to be the focus of the next WWE 365 documentary, according to PWInsider.

In case you didn’t know...

Styles debuted in WWE at the 2016 Royal Rumble and has been widely considered as one of the best wrestlers currently signed with the company.

Styles won his first WWE Championship back at Backlash 2016 and became the first man in history to ever hold the TNA, IWGP, and WWE World Championships.

He won his second WWE Championship on Nov. 7 and became the first Superstar to win the WWE Championship outside of North America.

The heart of the matter

The report from PWInsider says that the Phenomenal One will get the next documentary, but there’s no word on what time period it will focus on. Styles has been with the company for two years now, and there are a plethora of big moments in the Phenomenal One’s WWE career that the company could focus on.

A big centre of controversy amongst wrestling fans was Styles wrestling Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33, so following his career from WrestleMania 33 to WrestleMania 34 could be interesting — especially if his rumoured match against Shinsuke Nakamura happens.

Styles winning the WWE Championship and going on to face Brock Lesnar was another big moment in his career, so focusing on him from Survivor Series 2016 to Survivor Series 2017 could prove equally as interesting.

What’s next?

Owens’ documentary came out last week immediately following Survivor Series and was the fifth most popular WWE Network program according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

If the company’s next documentary will focus on the WWE Champion, then it could do equally as well; possibly better depending on when its released next year.

Author’s take

Styles has already proven himself to be one of WWE’s greatest performers in his last two years so seeing some of his biggest moments through the eyes of himself, his family and friends will make for an awesome documentary.
