From the WWE Rumor Mill: Asuka's WrestleMania plans revealed?

Alexa Bliss had words of high praise for India
Will it be The Empress of Tomorrow vs The Goddess at WrestleMania?

What's the story?

According to PWInsider, as of now, WWE is going ahead with its plan to have Asuka go up against Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

In case you didn’t know…

Asuka has been on somewhat of a dream run ever since joining the WWE. After moving to the main roster, The Empress of Tomorrow made history by winning the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match last month. She is yet to officially announce who she wants to challenge at WrestleMania.

In the Elimination Chamber PPV last Sunday, Asuka went up against Nia Jax, with the stipulation that if Nia wins, she would be added to the Women's Championship match at WrestleMania. Asuka continued her winning streak and beat Jax, keeping her out of the title picture for now.

The heart of the matter

This past week on Raw, the self-proclaimed Goddess started the show saying how proud she was of herself, for retaining the championship in her match inside the Elimination Chamber. After going on about how she would break Asuka's winning streak at WrestleMania, the Empress herself came out to confront Bliss.

What followed was a borderline-racist promo where the Bliss made fun of Asuka for her poor English. Nia Jax later came out, followed by Bayley and Sasha Banks and a brawl ensued.

After watching the segment, it is pretty evident that WWE intends to stick to its plan of Asuka vs Alexa Bliss at the 'show of shows'. Furthermore, PWInsider opines that WWE will keep this a one-on-one bout.

What's next?

It will be interesting to see how WWE plans to build this feud going into WrestleMania. Additionally, after Nia Jax's assault on Raw, it seems like she may not still be done with Asuka yet.

Author's take

I strongly feel that Asuka's amazing run in WWE is set to culminate at WrestleMania 34 with her being crowned Champion. Alexa Bliss' mic work is one of the best in the business, so this will assure a great build up to their eventual encounter.
