From the WWE Rumor Mill: Big name to replace Jonathan Coachman on RAW next week?

Looks like RAW will have a familiar face return next week
Looks like RAW will have a familiar face return next week

What's the story?

RAW goes to the O2 Arena in London next week. WWE has planned a big surprise for those watching at home, according to SEScoops.

Instead of Jonathan Coachman, it will be WWE Hall of Famer Booker T handling commentary duties for the red brand. Michael Cole and Corey Graves will, of course, retain their positions behind the commentary desk.

In case you didn't know...

Jonathan Coachman has been an integral part of WWE since the mid 90s. From a backstage interviewer, to a commentator to an on-screen character, he's done it all for the company.

Coachman stepped away from his WWE role in 2008 and moved on to ESPN where he embarked on a very successful career. Of course, he would return to WWE in January 2018, to replace Booker T.

Booker T is a man who needs no introduction, and is a legend in every sense of the word.

The heart of the matter

While fans were divided over Booker T on commentary, they have been more universally vocal about Jonathan Coachman behind the desk. Needless to say, certain fans haven't really been fans of Coachman since he came back and subsequently started handling commentary duties.

That said, it is not known why Coachman will not be behind the desk next week. It was mentioned during RAW but no reason was ever given. In the eyes of many fans, Booker T will be an improvement. He is expected to handle these duties only on this one occasion.

What's next?

RAW goes to London next week, where Booker T will man the booth. Get ready for his brand of classic humour. If Jason Jordan makes a return next week, Booker T will definitely snap.

Author's take

I never thought I'd say this, but Booker T is much, much better than Jonathan Coachman. Especially when the announcers start arguing, it distracts from the action in the ring.

At least Booker T is a riot when he speaks.
