From the WWE Rumor Mill: Big Update on Ronda Rousey's WWE Schedule

What kind of schedule will Ronda Rousey work?
What kind of schedule will Ronda Rousey work?

What's the story?

Ronda Rousey had, in many people's opinion, the greatest WWE debut of all time at a massive stage like WrestleMania 34. The question on everyone's mind is what the future holds for the MMA mega star?

Rumours suggests that while WWE will be Ronda Rousey's home going forward, she probably won't be on TV every week. We thank Cageside Seats for the update.

In case you didn't know...

Ronda Rousey teamed up with Kurt Angle to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34. While nobody really had huge expectations from the match, it was perhaps the best match in the entire WrestleMania card.

Rousey would show up on RAW the following night and Stephanie McMahon would try and make amends with her. Rousey would show her no mercy destroying her boss at the top of the show.

The heart of the matter

It is clear that Rousey will remain a WWE superstar for the near future. However, this rumour suggests that she will be kept on as a special attraction making sporadic appearances. Which means that she will only show up on certain occasions before the big matches. She won't be on every show, like the rest of the women do.

This may be a judicious move on WWE's part to keep Rousey fresh and must-see. They did the same with Brock Lesnar and despite some grumblings, his reign did feel like a pretty big deal.

What's next?

It remains to be seen where Rousey gets drafted during the Superstar Shake-Up. Each brand presents unique opportunities and feuds. Her biggest feud will of course, be with Charlotte Flair, some day down the line.

Author's take

I like the idea of Rousey not appearing on every single show. Like Paul Heyman once famously said (something to the effect of)- 'Christmas feels special because it happens only once a year'.

WWE knows they have a gold mine in Rousey and will certainly use her quite wisely.
