From the WWE Rumor Mill: Billie Kay and Peyton Royce absent from NXT because of breast surgery
What's the story?
We've sat on this news for quite a while, but now that the cat's out of the bag we can finally report on it. The reason Billie Kay and Peyton Royce have been out of action on NXT recently is that they have undergone cosmetic surgery to receive breast implants.
In case you didn't know...
Billie Kay and her Iconic Duo partner Peyton Royce have been off television since NXT TakeOver: WarGames in November, and haven't been actively competing at house shows either.
Dave Meltzer speculated that they were fine and just not needed for current storylines, which we covered, however, I left a small hint in the article (credit to Casey Michael from Squared Circle Sirens) that perhaps there was more than meets the eye with this story.
What's the story?
However, the speculation soon hit mainstream sites when WWE changed Billie Kay's profile on WWE.Com, revealing that not only did the WWE Superstar seem to have new ring-gear, but there was also another fairly noticeable change in her appearance. This has subsequently been changed back for some reason, but you can see Billie Kay's new profile picture, ring gear and appearance here.
As evidenced by the picture, and eventually confirmed by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Billie Kay did, in fact, have breast augmentation surgery, which is the reason why she's been absent from television and house shows.
Meltzer didn't comment on Peyton Royce, but we have seen plenty of confirmation online that Royce also underwent the same procedure which is why she has also been absent. Royce has even uploaded several pictures onto Instagram that suggests, but don't confirm, this herself.
What's next?
Now that Billie seems to have new ring gear and there's activity on WWE.com it seems a return could be coming soon for the female wrestler, which by proxy probably means that Royce is set to return to.
The recommendation is that anyone who undergoes breast augmentation procedures should not do any heavy lifting for up to six weeks, with that time being extended for professional wrestlers. With this time frame in mind, The Iconic Duo should be back in action for the March NXT TV tapings.
Author's take?
I can't wait to see Royce and Kay back in action, although they are long, long overdue a call-up to the main roster. That being said, it'd be great to see Peyton Royce become NXT Women's Champion before she moves up.
