YES! YES! YES!

What's the story?

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave his take on Daniel Bryan being medically cleared to compete once again. Credits to Ringsidenews for the update.

In case you didn’t know…

A few hours before SmackDown Live was set to air this past Tuesday, WWE made the announcement that took the pro wrestling world by storm. After two years, Daniel Bryan was medically cleared to compete in the ring once again.

The breaking news caused a number of websites to crash, with the sheer amount of traffic it entailed. The Leader of the Yes! movement would finally be coming back home where he truly belonged. The opening segment of SmackDown Live saw Bryan thanking everyone who supported him, especially wife Brie Bella, in a heartwarming segment.

The heart of the matter

On the latest instalment of WOR, Meltzer spoke about Daniel Bryan's return and revealed when exactly he was officially cleared by the WWE doctors. According to Meltzer, Bryan was officially cleared a mere one hour before WWE made the formal announcement on their website.

This is what Meltzer had to say when asked about the timeline of Bryan's clearance:

"I couldn't give you an exact time, but probably not until an hour before WWE announced it."

If this is indeed true, the huge decision was probably taken around 2 P.M. Eastern Time, one hour before the official news broke out.

What's next?

The closing segment of SmackDown Live saw Bryan being attacked by the duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn after he fired them both for their brutal attack on Shane McMahon the previous week.

It now looks like the former American Dragon will be teaming up with Shane O'Mac to take on Owens and Zayn in a tag team match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Author's take

It has been heavily rumoured for months now, that Daniel Bryan has been cleared for in-ring competition by the WWE. With this in mind, it is hard to imagine WWE taking such a huge call at the very last hour. Not to mention, the fact that Shane McMahon specifically mentioned in his promos that Bryan lived vicariously through Owens & Zayn because he couldn't wrestle was definitely no coincidence.

However, what exactly transpired behind the scenes can be confirmed only if WWE or Bryan himself comments about the same.
