Raw 25 is just a week and a half away!

What's the story?

Wrestling Inc. is reporting on exclusive news regarding details for the upcoming special Raw 25 episode on January 22nd. Sources within the WWE have reportedly confirmed to the site plans for the format and plans.

In case you didn't know...

The first episode of Monday Night Raw took place on January 11, 1993, on the USA Network from the Manhattan Center, one of the two venues for the upcoming Raw 25. This episode featured wrestlers such as The Steiner Brothers, Shawn Michaels, Yokozuna, and The Undertaker.

The heart of the matter

According to the report, the current plan is for one hour to take place from the Manhattan Center; while the other two hours will take place at the Barclays Center. It will not be an hour straight from the Manhattan Center but broken up into different segments.

As previously announced, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels will be on Raw 25, and according to the WWE sources, they will appear at both locations. Superstars appearing at both venues is currently being prepared and written by the creative team.

Backstage footage will be shot throughout the day for a potential episode of WWE 24 on the WWE Network.

One final word from the report is that several of the current WWE Superstars are requesting to be at the Manhattan Center because many were fans when Raw was filmed there from 1993 to 1997.

They want to experience the nostalgia; however according to Wrestling Inc., most of the current talent will be at the Barclays Center with most of the segments at the Manhattan Center will involve the legends.

What's next?

There is one more edition of Monday Night Raw before the big Raw 25 celebration. Next Monday the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas will host Raw with a potential main event of Miz and The Miztourage against Jason Jordan, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

Author's take

I love everything that I saw from this report. I think it's really cool that a lot of the current wrestlers want to be at the Manhattan Center, and hopefully can accommodate those who are specifically asking to be there.

It's truly going to be a special night due to the nostalgia factor, but it's also the go-home show to my favourite PPV on the WWE calendar.
