From the WWE Rumor Mill: Four 'injured' Superstars backstage at RAW tonight
What's the story?
Well, tonight is the night. It's the last episode of the season as far as RAW is concerned with WWE's grand finale of the year taking place on Sunday when WrestleMania 34 hits New Orleans.
But after John Cena unsuccessfully called out the Undertaker last week, and Brock Lesnar worked his last contractually obligated date at the weekend, who will be on RAW? Well, there is a plethora of talent returning from injury backstage as well as Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker ahead of tonight's show.
In case you didn't know...
Tonight's RAW is the last edition before WrestleMania and thus, the last chance to confirm a match between John Cena and The Undertaker before Sunday. Likewise, it's the final chance to build many matches - including Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns, ahead of their showdown.
All sounds simple, right? Well, tell John Cena that. He's called out Undertaker every week with no response - and with Lesnar's contracted dates now completed, and Reigns being left barely able to walk at the hands of The Beast last week, who knows how many of those four men we see on the show?
The heart of the matter
PW Insider delivered a report today on who is and who isn't backstage for the go-home edition of Monday Night Raw - and there are some surprising names backstage!
No less than four Superstars who have been sidelined with long-term injuries are in attendance with R-Truth, Alicia Fox, Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy all backstage.
The big news is, however, that WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has been spotted in Atlanta, where RAW emanates from, despite having worked his obligatory number of dates.
PW Insider does, however, note that the Undertaker has not been spotted.
What's next?
RAW is only a matter of hours away, but WWE have been known to be able to keep surprises under wraps. Tonight could be explosive ahead of WrestleMania on Sunday!
Author's take
Well, I'm surprised Brock Lesnar is on the show if he isn't contracted to be there, but given that this Sunday could be somewhat of a swansong for The Beast, at least for now, it's fitting that he is on the show to cram in as much build-up as possible. As for the Undertaker, I really hope he's there. Last week's RAW fell a bit flat when the crowd realised he wasn't there.
As for the four returning Superstars, they may show up on TV tonight, they may just be backstage to discuss their eventual return. Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and Big Cass have all been attendance in recent weeks, yet haven't been on television.
