What’s the story?

As noted by The Observer, the WWE currently plans on having Roman Reigns win the Universal title at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble event.

The aforementioned event which takes place later this month will see Brock Lesnar drop the title to Reigns.

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE announced the Greatest Royal Rumble event to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27th.

While the marquee matchup of the event will indeed be the Greatest Royal Rumble Match—a 50-Man Royal Rumble—several other matchups have also been confirmed for the card.

The heart of the matter

The Observer noted that WWE head honcho Vince McMahon is of the view that it would be better if the WWE Universal Championship changes hands at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia.

It was explained that the negative aspect of this situation is that the viewership for the event may not be high, owing to the fact that it’s not WrestleMania and the show takes place on a Friday afternoon.

Nevertheless, it was added that WWE is trying to build a relationship with Saudi Arabia, and a new Universal Champion being crowned at the aforementioned show could be one of the perks being given to them.

What’s next?

The Greatest Royal Rumble event takes place at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27th.

Fans can expect Roman Reigns to defeat Brock Lesnar in their Steel Cage Match, and win the Universal title.

Author’s take

Honestly speaking, the WWE may have struck gold with this plan, and Vince McMahon has indeed once again proven how much of a genius he truly is.

Roman Reigns battling the odds and finally slaying the Beast for the Universal title at a historic event such as the Greatest Royal Rumble is what’s best for business.
