From the WWE Rumor Mill: Has Chris Jericho's return date been revealed?

Chris Jericho is set to return to the WWE

What’s the story?

According to reports from Wrestling Inc, a WWE Live event advertisement has revealed when Chris Jericho will return to the square ring. The advertisement reveals that Y2J could possibly return at two live events in Japan on June 30th and July 1st.

In case you didn’t know...

Jericho is currently on tour with his heavy metal band Fozzy. His last match in the WWE was against Kevin Owens for the US Championship.

The heart of the matter

Chris Jericho has gone on a temporary hiatus from the WWE, in order to tour with his band.

According to Wrestling Inc, the WWE has scheduled dates for live events in Japan on June 30th and July 1st. These events were advertised in a recent WWE Live event and the advertisement featured Y2J himself. If the advertisement is anything to go by, then we could be seeing Jericho in Japan for the events.

This report seems plausible, not only because of the advertisement but because Fozzy’s tour ends on the 24th of June, which perfectly lines up with the Japanese event schedule provided by the WWE.

If the advertisement holds true, then fans will get to see Jericho wrestle again much sooner than expected.

What's next?

As of now, Y2J is touring with his band Fozzy, and if rumours are to be believed, then he will be back in his wrestling gear by the 30th of June. Maybe the WWE will plan on extending his rivalry with Owens for next year or they may look for a new storyline for him.

However, the big question right now is whether Jericho will wrestle for RAW or SmackDown Live.

Author’s Take

2016-17 was the best year in Jericho’s 18 year WWE career. Fans got to see a side of Jericho they had never seen before.

They got to see the ‘List of Jericho’ plus his friendship/rivalry with Kevin Owens and to ‘drink it all in’, so it's safe to say that Jericho outdid himself this year and the WWE Universe will be praying to see more of him next year.
