From the WWE Rumor Mill: Has NXT's Twitter account shed some light on EC3's future?

Why would NXT follow Ethan Carter III on Twitter?
Why would NXT follow Ethan Carter III on Twitter?

What's the story?

Much is being said about EC3's possible return to the WWE following his departure from Impact Wrestling. First, he pulled out of an indy show on the same day of the Royal Rumble, then he was spotted at the Performance Center, and finally, we may now have our biggest clue of all, WWE NXT's Twitter account just started following him.

In case you didn't know...

Ethan Carter III was originally in the WWE as Derrick Bateman which turned out to be a fairly uneventful run for the wrestler. It was only when he joined Impact as EC3 that he was propelled to the top of the card and became a world champion.

EC3 recently left Impact Wrestling after being granted an early release from his contract following the most recent set of tapings (full spoilers can be found here). In storyline, EC3 participated in a Feast or Fired match and ended up getting the briefcase with the pink slip in.

The heart of the matter

Even though the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has all but confirmed that EC3 has resigned with the WWE, plans could change, and it's not official until the WWE announce it themselves. Until then we need to look at the little signs that it's happened, like this.

That's right folks, Casey Michael from Squared Circle Sirens has his finger on the pulse and has noticed that the WWE NXT Twitter account has started following a very interesting name indeed, none other than EC3 himself!

What's next?

Given everything we know so far, we can make some logical and fair inferences. EC3 will likely be going to NXT if he joins the WWE and it's likely he'll be debuting in the Royal Rumble match if he debuts at all.

Author's take

There's still a chance it might not happen. Right? Who am I kidding EC3 is back with the WWE.
