From the WWE Rumor Mill: Heel turn planned for WrestleMania tag team match

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon's match at WrestleMania may not be straight forward
Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon's match at WrestleMania could hold a number of shocks

What's the story?

Daniel Bryan returns to action for the first time in more than two years this weekend at WrestleMania, as he teams with Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, in a match that could hold a number of shocks for all four men involved.

In case you didn't know...

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, haven't always seen eye to eye at the helm of the SmackDown Live roster. The duo has butted heads a number of times when it comes to the treatment of Owens and Zayn in recent months.

The General Manager and his Commissioner have finally got back on the same page after hugging it out on SmackDown this past week. But, it seems that a huge task awaits them at WrestleMania, since Bryan hasn't stepped in the ring in two years and McMahon hasn't wrestled since Hell in a Cell, which was when the feud with Owens and Zayn truly kickstarted.

The heart of the matter

According to a report by Sports Illustrated, there could be plans to see either Bryan or McMahon turn heel in their match and cost themselves the win on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All'.

Whilst it would be quite anticlimactical for Bryan and McMahon to pick up the win over their longtime rivals and force them away from of the SmackDown brand for good, there could be some surprises in store instead.

McMahon would be the obvious choice for a heel turn since it seems that the crowd would definitely turn on the show if the company turned Bryan heel after the fight that he has gone through in recent years.

If Owens and Zayn are able to pick up the win, then they would be reinstated to SmackDown Live and could continue the feud, which makes much more sense now that Bryan has returned to in-ring action.

What's next?

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, team up to take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, with two former NXT Champion's jobs on the line, even though they have already been fired and could go over to Monday Night Raw if they lose their match on Sunday night.

Author's take

There are a number of shocks and surprises already rumored to be part of WrestleMania and this could just be the icing on the cake.

Vince McMahon has seen the surge in ticket sales since it was revealed that Bryan would be part of the show and a heel turn for Shane McMahon here would allow this feud to continue and would then plant seeds for the future when it comes to plans for the former World Champion.
