From the WWE Rumor Mill: Huge change in character for Jeff Hardy upon return?

Is Jeff Hardy reverting to his 'Broken' roots?
Is Jeff Hardy reverting to his 'Broken' roots?

What's the story?

Much has changed since Jeff Hardy got injured with a torn rotator cuff. In the meanwhile, Matt Hardy had an awakening, and became a deranged figure not unlike his 'Broken' persona in TNA.

A report from Ring Side News quotes Bryan Alvarez, who believes that Jeff Hardy will come back to align with his brother, Woken Matt. It also suggests that Hardy may return by end of March or early April.

In case you didn't know...

The Hardy Boyz are one of the most popular tag teams of all time. During their TNA stint, Matt Hardy came up with a mystical and magical character, when he was 'broken' after a fall.

A program ensued with Jeff Hardy, and soon the latter adopted a darker persona as well, known as 'Brother Nero', based upon Jeff Hardy's actual middle name.

Upon their return to WWE, the two brothers returned to their former selves until recently when Matt Hardy was 'woken'.

The heart of the matter

While Jeff Hardy was part of a backstage segement at RAW 25, he hasn't been a part of the mix, owing to his torn rotator cuff. Alvarez believes that upon his return, Jeff Hardy will revert to the 'Brother Nero' persona.

The article linked here alludes to the fact that Hardy may return as early as next month. If so, we wonder if he'll be a part of WrestleMania 34. Imagine the sight of thousands going 'delete' with the arrival of Brother Nero.

What's next?

We wait patiently for the arrival of Jeff Hardy. We're sure that when he does return, the impact will be monumental. Stay tuned to this page for further updates.

Author's take

It would be so cool to see Woken Matt Hardy and Brother Hero (I doubt it'll still be Nero) as a tag team unit. The 'Woken' gimmick has not taken off, and it needs a shot in the arm.

I'm also cool with Jeff Hardy returning without the Brother Nero gimmick, and chasing singles glory, away from his 'Woken' brother.
