From the WWE Rumor Mill: Is The Club next to receive their WWE release?
What's the story?
WWE seems to be trimming some people out of their talent pool at the moment and a few fans have an idea who might be next on the chopping block. The Club is currently on a lot of people's lists for possibly getting the axe next.
But WrestlingNews.co has some new information to clear up any of those rumours.
In case you didn't know...
There were apparently plans to bring in a reunion of The Club to TLC which Vince McMahon nixed. Therefore Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were left without anything to do while they watched AJ Styles and Finn Balor have a stellar match without them involved.
Of course, maybe it's not too good for The Club that they're still so close with The Bullet Club, who are currently experiencing a nuclear amount of heat from WWE.
In fact, The Club seems to have been relegated to a minimal role on WWE television in recent months. They come out, call people "nerds", and then generally get defeated unless it's a rare situation. Therefore most people agree the former members of The Bullet Club are being greatly underutilised in WWE's current product.
The heart of the matter
Emma's WWE release was a surprise to Dave Meltzer as he spoke on Wrestling Observer Radio. He said it was obvious her release wasn't planned or else Asuka would have squashed her on both occasions they met in the ring.
"This isn't about Emma quitting this is about them deciding they were gonna cut some people and there may be more. Like I don't know, those people in that Halloween pumpkin match today, I don't know. It was kinda ominous to me."
To add even more fuel of speculation, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have appeared to change their Twitter profiles and axed "WWE Superstar" from the bio section. A lot of fans were wondering if this meant The Club would be the next to receive their walking papers.
However, WrestlingNews.Co have reported that they've spoken to sources in WWE who have confirmed that anything regarding The Club being the next to leave is a non-story. In fact, Anderson and Gallows can't wait for the next step in their WWE careers and the Trick-or-Street fight was just good old-fashioned gimmicky fun.
What's next?
Hopefully, WWE will figure out a new way to use The Club on television. They had a great thing going when they paired the two with AJ Styles. Wouldn't it be nice to see that trio reform down the line?
Author's take
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have been through a lot together during their time in the ring as a team. They have a bond closer than most brothers experience and it's only a matter of time before they take it to the next level.
But in the meantime, they will continue to do whatever is needed, even if it's a Trick-or-Street fight ending with both of them laid out with jack-o-lanterns on their heads. Isn't pro wrestling wonderful?
