From the WWE Rumor Mill: Finn Balor could face Jinder Mahal on WWE's tour of India
What's the story?
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting on a potential opponent for Jinder Mahal on the WWE's tour of India coming up at the end of the year. Meltzer states that Finn Balor could be his opponent during the tour.
In case you didn't know...
As reported previously by Sportskeeda, the WWE will be performing in New Delhi, India, on December 6th and 7th. The shows will take place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium — which holds over 14,000 people.
The heart of the matter
This tour of India will feature the Monday Night Raw brand; which makes sense that Balor could be a potential opponent. At the time of this writing, it is not known if this is just a special appearance for the WWE Champion or if this may move Mahal to Raw as part of a second Superstar Shakeup rumoured to take place this fall.
Meltzer also stated that Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Sasha Banks, The Miz, and Bayley would take part in the tour.
What's next?
Jinder Mahal focuses on his WWE Championship defence this Sunday as he takes on Shinsuke Nakamura at the Hell In A Cell pay per view. Expect further developments in the feud on the next episode of Smackdown Live.
Author's take
It is interesting that the WWE would have Jinder go against someone who is as popular worldwide as Finn Balor. Jinder should get a hero's welcome when he makes his entrance for his matches at these events, so I am a little surprised that he wouldn't face a heel here.
As for his participation in the tour, I still believe he will go to Raw in the upcoming Superstar Shakeup (as long as it is still in the plans). Vince is bullish on Jinder, and one assumes he would love to have him on the WWE's flagship show; however, it makes complete sense to include him on this tour even if he doesn't go to Raw.
