What’s the story?

It is strongly rumoured that Jinder Mahal will be added to the Bobby Roode vs Randy Orton United States Championship match at Fastlane, as per Cageside Seats.

In case you didn’t know…

The Modern Day Maharaja has recently targeted Bobby Roode on SmackDown Live, and of course, has a storied history with Randy Orton.

Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship reign was predominantly against Randy Orton, defeating him to shock the world and win the title in the first place - and even defeating Orton in a Punjabi Prison Match with help from The Great Khali.

Mahal's feud with Roode, however, has been based more around the SmackDown top 10 list - which seems to be a central point of the United States Championship picture right now with Mahal releasing a "false" version of Bobby Roode's.

The heart of the matter

This week on SmackDown, Mahal came to the ring to try and stir up trouble between Roode and Orton - with a singles match between the latter two being made for Fastlane.

Well, Jinder Mahal has been an integral part of this rivalry for the past two weeks, having confronted Bobby Roode just last week in a segment which you can see below.

In fact, Mahal even laid out the Champion on SmackDown Live.

What’s next?

Randy Orton is scheduled to challenge Bobby Roode for the WWE United States Championship at WWE Fastlane. But with a fair few weeks of SmackDown Live before the event, you can probably bet that Jinder Mahal will have something to say about his exclusion.

Author’s take

Well, I don't think this will come as a huge surprise to anyone given how the last few weeks of television have played out. A Triple Threat Match seems like the most likely scenario for these three to settle their differences and fight it out for the United States Championship.

I think Jinder Mahal definitely adds some intrigue to the match and I'd be much more interested in a Triple Threat Match for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one plays out.
