From the WWE Rumor Mill: John Cena to be a part of SmackDown's Fastlane after Elimination Chamber?
What's the story?
John Cena is set to be a part of the first-ever seven-man Elimination Chamber Match which is set to take place on the 25th of February. But, if WWE posters are anything to go by, the Raw Exclusive pay-per-view Elimination Chamber, may not be the only pay-per-view he is a part of prior to WrestleMania 34.
WWE's website, WWE.com have advertised the upcoming SmackDown Live exclusive pay-per-view, Fastlane. On the poster, alongside SmackDown Live stars AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal, John Cena has taken a place front and center.
In case you didn't know...
John Cena qualified to be a part of Raw's Elimination Chamber match after he defeated Finn Balor. During the bout, he displayed excessive emotion and frustration, which was uncharacteristic of him. He went on to win the match and was added to the Elimination Chamber Match. The winner of the bout is set to go on to WrestleMania to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
John Cena is a 'free agent' which means that he technically is not an exclusive part of either Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live, and is a part of both shows.
The heart of the matter
John Cena is advertised by WWE to be a part of their upcoming SmackDown Live exclusive pay-per-view, Fastlane on their website. All advertisements are subject to change, so this may mean nothing. On the other hand, if this is an indication of things to come, then it may be assumed that Cena will not win the Elimination Chamber.
The poster features Cena alongside AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal.
The pictures of the featured superstars place him along with Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Styles and other SmackDown Live stars.
Cena has shown uncharacteristic desperation to reach WrestleMania, and after his possible loss at the Elimination Chamber Match, he may go to the Blue Brand instead to try his luck.
What's next?
John Cena is set to take part in the Elimination Chamber Match on the 25th of February. He will go up against Braun Strowman, The Miz, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Elias inside the Chamber for an opportunity to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
Author's take
While it is not confirmed, this would play into the storyline that Cena is desperate to reach WrestleMania. According to Dave Meltzer, the Cena and Undertaker storyline will be set up in the 'next few weeks' so this may be a part of that storyline as well.
