From the WWE Rumor Mill: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to feature in Survivor Series 2017

What's the story?

While SmackDown Live's most infamous duo, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, may not be a part of Survivor Series 2017, as of this moment, they are being written into the show in some manner, according to Cageside Seats.

You can follow Sportskeeda's live updates and coverage of Survivor Series 2017 right here.

Both men lost their qualification matches that would allow them to represent SmackDown Live at this week's mega event. However, that does not mean that they will not be at Survivor Series 2017.

In case you didn't know...

Sami Zayn took on Randy Orton to qualify for a spot at Survivor Series 2017 and lost. The same thing happened with Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens, where the former defeated the latter to qualify.

When the RAW roster invaded SmackDown Live this week, the two heels backed out and did not partake in the melee that would ensue.

The heart of the matter

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are always invariably up to something devious. If they are involved in Survivor Series, their actions could have long-term consequences that would play out on television over the coming months.

Whether they are Shane McMahon's secret weapons to even the odds against the seemingly more dominant RAW roster, or if indeed they will play a part in helping SmackDown Live lose for not picking them in the squad now remains to be seen.

Join us live this weekend, when we bring you news, reviews and updates from Survivor Series in Texas.

What's next?

If these rumours are indeed true, we could be in for a treat, this weekend. If they are not, well, Zayn and Owens will remain integral players on Brand Blue.

Author's take

It will be unforgivable if Zayn and Owens do not make it to Survivor Series, considering that they're the best thing about SmackDown Live.

I'm already surprised to see them not compete at the pay-per-view event. I think they'll definitely have a major role to play.
