From the WWE Rumor Mill: Kofi Kingston reportedly suffers an injury scare
What's the story?
Kofi Kingston is 1/3 of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions but he recently had an injury scare at a house show. The Wrestling Observer's website provided an update on how he's doing.
In case you didn't know...
Kofi Kingston might have started out as a happy Jamaican but he quickly transformed into so much more. He's had an amazing career in WWE and achieved a lot of high spots.
Not only does he possess the ability to stay in a Royal Rumble like nobody's business but he is also a gifted tag team wrestler.
His partnership with Big E and Xavier Woods translated into probably the highlight of his career so far. But at the beginning of their fourth run as WWE Tag Team Champions they might have hit a small snag.
The heart of the matter
WWE was recently in Honolulu, Hawaii, doing a house show when something went wrong for Kofi. Fans in attendance reported Kingston had to be helped to the back by medical staff.
He was able to finish the match but fans feared the worst. After all, poorly timed injuries have seemed to be a common theme in WWE recently.
But The Wrestling Observer's website reported everything seems to be okay for Kofi at this point. He was medically cleared to compete in the ring and is scheduled to take part in the rest of this weekend's WWE events.
What's next?
Kofi, Xavier, and Big E will continue to have as much fun as they possibly can with all the booty shaking and catchphrase using they have in them. This is their fourth WWE Tag Team Championship but if recent reports are correct, it probably won't be the last.
Author's take
When I first heard Kofi was injured I feared the worst and expected it as well because I'm a pessimist and a total Debbie Downer. I think with the glass-half-empty so I'm never disappointed by an outcome if anything I'm relieved.
This news about Kofi's injury not being as serious as we feared is certainly a load off because I think we've seen injuries claim enough championship titles for a while.
