From the WWE Rumor Mill: Mae Young Classic Participant spotted at WWE Performance Center

What is in store for her?
What's in store for Serena Deeb?

What’s the story?

WWE had their recent signees from the indie scene report to the WWE Performance Center, but another superstar has reportedly been spotted there.

Mae Young Classic Participant Serena Deeb was spotted at the Performance Center according to a report published by PWInsider.

In case you didn’t know...

Deeb returned to the WWE in 2017 to compete in the Mae Young Classic. Deeb defeated Vanessa Born to advance to second round of the tournament but was defeated by Piper Niven.

The heart of the matter

The former SmackDown superstar was spotted in Pittsburgh a while back which caused many to speculate whether she was coming back to the company.

Pittsburgh is used by WWE for the pre-signing medical test so there’s a chance that her appearance in Pittsburgh and the performance center could be the signs for a WWE deal.

Deeb could be brought back to participate in the upcoming Women’s Royal Rumble match and having her return to the WWE in one of the biggest matches in the history of women’s wrestling would be a great way to establish her for a run on the main roster.

Many fans best remember Deeb for her run with WWE in 2009 when she joined Luke Gallows and CM Punk during the Straight Edge Society gimmick. Deeb served primarily as a manager for Gallows and Punk but competed in one match with Gallows against Big Show and Kelly Kelly with their status in the Straight Edge Society on the line.

What’s next?

If Deeb is coming back to the company, then it will be interesting to see the fashion in which she returns to WWE and how the promotion uses her going forward.

Author’s take

Deeb was fantastic in the Mae Young Classic and her persona during the Straight Edge Society was fun to watch as well. Hopefully, Deeb has a better run this time around.
