What's the story?

The pro wrestling fraternity and fans are rejoicing in the wake of WWE's announcement of Daniel Bryan's in-ring clearance. With Bryan's in-ring future now clear, the focus now shifts towards the former WWE Champion's contract going forward.

According to the Wresting Observer, WWE and Daniel Bryan have the liberty to work as many dates as desired with Bryan possibly choosing a part-time deal over a grueling full-time schedule.

More details of the process behind his clearance were also revealed by Dave Meltzer.

In case you didn't know...

Dr. Joseph Maroon's was brought up during Meltzer's discussion on Wrestling Observer Live this afternoon and it was said that the WWE doctor was the only person who had not cleared Bryan to return to the ring.

Bryan had to go to Maroon and asked him about what was required in order to get the nod. Bryan was sent to three of the most prominent concussion specialists in the country on the behest of WWE. All three doctors namely, Dr. Javier Cárdenas, Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher and Dr. Robert Cantu cleared the former WWE Champion leaving Maroon no option but to give the green signal.

There were backstage murmurs of Bryan's return in recent weeks and a handful of officials knew about the plans of a comeback that were also subtly unfolding on tv.

The final go-ahead was given on Monday and the announcement was saved for hours before SmackDown to boost ratings.

The heart of the matter

Bryan left no stone unturned in getting his unprecedented return to the squared circle an actual reality. The 4-time WWE Champion met the most doctors in WWE history -- possibly combat sports history -- over the span of 23 months and had earlier stated he would prefer working a lighter schedule that would have 60 dates than the daunting standard that is 200 dates.

The Leader of the Yes! Movement is expected to team up with Shane McMahon in a tag team match against Sami Zayn and Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 34.

His heart-wrenching promo on SmackDown Live in which he spoke volumes of his and Brie Bella's efforts and came across as one of the segments of the year.

What's next?

Bryan will undoubtedly make up for lost time and should hit the ground running in New Orleans on April 8th.

Rumors of Bryan wrestling in NJPW cane be put to rest now that the flying goat has the freedom to wrestle in a WWE ring as much as he wants.

WrestleMania 34 just went from being an average show to one possibly the most stacked show in years in terms of highlight reel moments.
