From the WWE Rumor Mill: Paige's future in WWE and Hollywood possibly revealed

Paige is not done with the WWE yet

What’s the story?

Per PWInsider, Paige’s appearance on this week’s edition of RAW may likely be her final WWE TV appearance in the immediate future.

Additionally, it was noted that Paige will indeed be involved with WWE in the days to come. Besides, Paige’s upcoming obligations concerning the movie based on her have also been revealed.

In case you didn’t know…

Paige, whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis, has competed in the sport of professional wrestling since 2005. Paige performed in the WWE’s developmental territories from 2011 till her WWE main roster debut in 2014.

The British Superstar earned several accolades including the NXT Women’s title as well as the Divas Championship, before taking a break from in-ring competition in 2016.

Paige had been dealing with neck injury issues since 2016, however, returned to RAW last year as the leader of Absolution alongside Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville.

Nevertheless, her in-ring competition came to a halt once again, as she suffered a serious neck injury at the hands of Sasha Banks at a WWE RAW-branded house show in late-2017—following which, Paige served in a managerial role for Absolution.

The heart of the matter

It was on the April 9th episode of Monday Night RAW that Paige put forth a speech, addressing her injury issues and announcing her retirement from the WWE and pro-wrestling.

It’s now being revealed that Paige’s appearance on the aforementioned episode of RAW will be her last on WWE television programming for now.

Furthermore, it was noted that WWE will most definitely keep Paige around in some capacity, most likely as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center.

Paige will also continue to be featured as part of the Total Divas cast in the days to come, besides being prominently involved in promotions of the movie “Fighting With My Family”.

What’s next?

Fighting With My Family is a movie that will chronicle the life of Paige and her family, including their time in the pro-wrestling business.

The movie is being produced by WWE Studios, Film4, Misher Films and The Rock’s “Seven Bucks Productions”—with the US release date set for 14th September, 2018.

Author’s take

It’s tough to see such a young talent have to step away from doing what she loves. Regardless, at the age of 25, Paige still has the time to scout other career options.

Besides, considering how much the WWE and all of the sports-entertainment fans love Paige, she’d be remiss to not try her hand at acting. Perhaps a few WWE Studios movies, starring her, may be on the cards.
