From the WWE Rumor Mill: Real reason why The Undertaker did not show up on RAW
What's the story?
This week on RAW, John Cena came out to challenge The Undertaker once again, for a match at WrestleMania 34. Despite the incredibly loud chants from the WWE Universe, the Dead Man would not show up and confirm a match with John Cena.
Cageside Seats reports that because the WrestleMania 34 card is so stacked, WWE did not need Cena or The Undertaker to promote the event. This is the rumour that's floating about, regarding The Undertaker's no-show.
In case you didn't know...
John Cena came up short against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble, at Elimination Chamber and at Fastlane. He is content to attend WrestleMania 34 as a fan but he wants The Undertaker in a dream match, according to the current ongoing storyline.
However, week after week, John Cena has called out and demanded that The Dead Man show up to absolutely no avail.
The heart of the matter
The WrestleMania 34 card is one of the most stacked ones in the history of the event. With The Universal Championship match, The WWE Championship match, Ronda Rousey's debut and the thrill of finding out who Braun Strowman's partner may be...the lineup is already a winner!
Therefore, speculation is rampant that WWE does not really need a confirmation for The Undertaker vs. John Cena to sell tickets. Instead, the intrigue will keep people guessing and The Undertaker will directly show up at WrestleMania 34.
What's next?
Come what may, John Cena will show up at WrestleMania 34 as a fan. In all probability, The Undertaker will answer his challenge at the 'Show of Shows'. The showdown between the two men should be quite interesting.
Author's take
I guess I can see why The Undertaker did not show up during the actual episode. That said, his no-show and Cena's segment did seem like a colossal waste of time.
The WWE Universe will be ecstatic when he does show up at WrestleMania 34 though!
