What's the story?

According to reports from Cageside Seats, Ronda Rousey, who was previously advertised for a number of singles matches during WWE's European tour was made to do tag matches instead so that she doesn't feel like too much is being pushed on her.

In case you didn't know...

Rousey made her wrestling debut at WrestleMania 34 alongside WWE veteran Kurt Angle. Rowdy Ronda put up a great match, where she completely dominated over the likes of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

The heart of the matter

Reports from Cageside Seats suggests that Ronda Rousey was pulled out from performing in singles matches for WWE's European tour in order to tone down the pressure it could have on her.

Instead, she was made to perform numerous tag team matches across the tour alongside Natalya and Ember Moon.

Rousey definitely showed her skill as a tag team partner during her WrestleMania 34 debut match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, where she teamed up with Kurt Angle. So the idea behind this form being easier on her makes sense, as she is not the only person expected to perform.

However, it would be nice to see her use her MMA abilities in a singles match and fans will be treated to one such match at Money in the Bank, where Rousey will challenge Nia Jax for her RAW Women's Championship.

What's next?

As of now, fans can expect Rousey to make appearances at RAW for either promotional purposes or to participate in tag matches. However, this will soon change when Rowdy Ronda challenges Nia Jax for the RAW Women's Championship at Money in the Bank.

Author's take

The reasoning behind WWE's decision to pull Ronda Rousey out of the advertised singles matches seems sound. Mainly because the pressure can get to anyone especially in a house show and that could lead to a couple of botches, which is something WWE cannot have fans seeing when it comes to Ronda Rousey.

However, there is much to be excited for when the time comes for Rowdy Ronda's singles debut and it will be interesting to see how WWE books her match against the Champion Nia Jax.
