From the WWE Rumor Mill: Rumor killer about Sasha Banks' attitude backstage being the reason for her push being cancelled
What's the story?
In the past week or so, there have been many speculations regarding why WWE Superstar Sasha Banks has faced a setback of sorts in her push lately. We now bring a rumor-killer regarding the same.
In case you didn’t know…
For the better part of 2016-17, The Legit Boss was involved in a feud with Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women's Championship, winning the title on multiple occasions during the feud. Post that, during SummerSlam last year, Banks defeated Alexa Bliss to become a 4-time Women's Champion, only to drop it eight days later.
In December 2017, Banks fought in the first ever Women's match in the Middle East alongside Alexa Bliss, lasted a record 54 mins in the Women's Royal Rumble, and was also the last person to be eliminated in the Women's Elimination Chamber match.
Off late, however, The Boss has been shunned from the title picture and into an on-again, off-again feud with former best friend Bayley.
The heart of the matter
After being in the main event scene for so long, fans have been speculating whether there's more than what meets the eye regarding the reason why Banks is not in the Title picture anymore.
In fact, reports were doing the rounds that Mike Johnson of PW Insider supposedly stated that the reason for a setback in Sasha Banks' push was due to problems with her attitude backstage.
Now, CagesideSeats reports that Johnson has clarified that wasn't the case.
We cannot be sure of what exactly WWE has in store for Sasha Banks, but it seems like the reason The Boss is not in the title picture anymore is just a matter of booking. Banks and Bayley had a classic feud over at NXT and WWE might feel that they don't need a title to build a feud between the two women now, giving other women on the roster a chance to stay in the Title scene.
What's next?
Sasha Banks and Bayley are currently involved in a feud dating back many months now. The two women went head to head on Raw last week, only for the match to end in no-contest after they were attacked by a newly drafted Riott Squad.
Author's take
The storyline between Sasha Banks and Bayley is not new and if WWE intends to go further with it, they must give it a shot in the arm, with some fresh development - a full-fledged heel turn for one of them might do the trick.
