From the WWE Rumor Mill: Rumor killer on SmackDown Superstars' injury
What's the story?
There were rumours going around that The Singh Brothers Sunil and Samir were injured, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that it's not the case and The Singh Brothers are, in fact, fine.
In case you didn't know...
The Singh Brothers seemingly had their alliance with Jinder Mahal come to an end on the most recent episode of SmackDown Live. After losing to AJ Styles in a 2-on-1 handicap match, Jinder Mahal attacked Sunil and Samir, thus ending their partnership.
It was rumoured soon after that The Singh Brothers could be done with WWE now that their storyline with Jinder is over. There's no word on such yet, however.
Prior to their SmackDown Live debuts, they were on 205 Live, but after making their debuts on the first episode of the show, they were sent to NXT.
The heart of the matter
The reason for the rumours of their injuries was because they missed a house show over the weekend. Given that their alliance ended with Jinder Mahal, it would make sense that they don't appear on any of the upcoming live events, i.e unless they're going to be a permanent tag team fixture of SmackDown Live.
However, the Wrestling Observer confirmed that the duo is just fine. However, their future roles in the WWE are still uncertain. Whether they stay on SmackDown Live as a tag team, go back to NXT or maybe even 205 Live, they would definitely be a great asset. They definitely proved that solely based on the bumps they took during their run with Jinder.
What's next?
Not much is known as to what is next for The Singh Brothers. Given the talent that the brothers possess, it would be a shame if they were let go by WWE. They have quite some potential to be a good mid-card tag team, if not more.
Author's take
Hopefully, The Singh Brothers get sent back to NXT and the Performance Center and develop more. They can be long stays in WWE and have a great career, perhaps even racking up a few championships by the time it's all said and done.
