From The WWE Rumor Mill: Rumor Killer on the speculated match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley
What's the story?
Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that there are currently no plans for a Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar feud, regardless of the rumors floating around.
In case you didn't know...
Lashley returned on the RAW after Wrestlemania after an absence of 10 years from the WWE, almost immediately giving rise to speculation regarding a future match against the reigning and defending Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar.
What further added fuel to fire was Lesnar retaining his Universal Title against Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 34, which made people believe that it might be Lashley who will be the one to take the strap from Lesnar instead of Reigns.
The heart of the matter
Bobby Lashley, much like Brock Lesnar has an MMA background so it will make perfect sense for the two to square off against each other, and seeing how Brock might be leaving WWE soon, Lashley would be the perfect Superstar to fill in the void.
Even though it seems like a dream match that must happen, it appears that at this point of time the match is not on the cards, as per WON.
The possible reason for it could be that WWE are planning to continue the feud between Lesnar and Reigns as the two are set to face each other yet again the Greatest Royal Rumble.
What's next?
The Greatest Royal Rumble will be taking place on the 27th April and even though Lesnar will be facing Reigns, No match has been announced for Lashley; which could mean that he will be part of the 50-man Royal Rumble.
Author's take
Even though it is being stated that there are no current plans for the match, I do believe that the two will be on collision course somewhere down the line.
Lesnar has re-signed with the WWE, even though it believed to be a short-term deal and I can still see Lashley being next after Reigns to take on The Beast Incarnate.
