From the WWE Rumor Mill: SmackDown Live spoilers, 2 out of 3 falls match, Survivor Series qualifying matches
Survivor Series is just around the corner and they really got things going on the Raw after TLC when practically the entire SmackDown Live roster took Raw "under siege" and destroyed most of the Red Team's roster.
It looks like the theme to prepare for the next big pay-per-view is going to remain the ongoing theme as SmackDown Live is going to be a stacked show.
PW Insider reports the plan as of a few minutes ago was for Bobby Roode to square off against Dolph Ziggler in a 2 out of 3 falls match where the winner will claim a spot to represent SmackDown Live at Survivor Series.
There are also reportedly plans for Randy Orton to take on Sami Zayn in another match to qualify for a spot on the Blue Team's side during the men's Survivor Series match during the big November show.
It was also theorised that fans might get a better explanation as to why so many members of the SmackDown roster banded together in order to take down the Raw team during the closing moments of last night's show. It was a great "invasion angle" but in the end, it was just one of many in WWE's illustrious history.
There needs to be a better explanation why heels fought alongside the babyfaces on SmackDown Live other than the fact they all share a common show.
Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon might have some work to do but WWE is obviously putting a bunch of wheels in motion to book Survivor Series. With every new piece they're adding to the puzzle it seems like they're making an even greater masterpiece with every motion.
Of course, any plan can change because that's what WWE is known for (especially in recent memory). But with Kevin Owens' absence from the show and no expected timetable for his return, it looks like the Blue Team needs to figure out something fast and it looks like the road to Survivor Series will really kick off tonight on SmackDown Live, assuming Raw doesn't invade and ruin their plans.
