From the WWE Rumor Mill: Spoiler on which match will main event WrestleMania

Which match will bring WrestleMania to a close?
Which match will bring WrestleMania to a close?

What's the story?

For the first time in years, the WrestleMania card is so packed, that any of the marquee matches could ideally main event it. According to a rumour first reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer and later by Cageside Seats, it will be Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns main eventing WrestleMania.

According to the rumour, plans are subject to change. The WWE card could be shuffled at the very last minute.

In case you didn't know...

There are many matches in this year's card that are worthy of closing the grand event.

While Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar is certainly one of the matches in that list, the other ones are the yet unannounced but highly probable Undertaker vs. John Cena match, as well as the Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon dream match.

It will be the Universal Championship match that will, in fact, bring the show to a close.

The heart of the matter

To be honest, this does not seem like a surprising decision at all, really. Right from WrestleMania 31, Roman Reigns has been the man in the main event of WrestleMania, every year. It would only make sense for WWE to continue this tradition, as he becomes the face of WWE.

Moreover, the Universal Championship is the most important prize in the flagship brand of WWE. It would make much logical sense for WWE to close the show, with the highly anticipated Universal Championship match.

What's next?

While the order may not be clear for now, what we can guarantee is that the WrestleMania card will be quite explosive. And we will bring you live coverage of WrestleMania 34, as it happens. Stay tuned for all the action.

Author's take

I'm okay with the match going on last. They're building a long term narrative with Roman Reigns, and I'm glad they are, honestly.

Love him or hate him, it's impossible to deny that he'll be the guy, going forward!
