From the WWE Rumor Mill: Team name for McIntyre-Ziggler revealed
What's the story?
During the recent Superstar Shake-Up, we saw Dolph Ziggler arrive at RAW from SmackDown Live. However, he had a partner-in-arms in Drew McIntyre this time to watch his back.
According to a recent report in Wrestling Inc., this new team will be known as 'The Show'. This brand new WWE alliance managed to put away Titus Worldwide on this week's show.
In case you didn't know...
Dolph Ziggler has been one of those characters who's always been on the verge of greatness, but something has always prevented him from reaching the very summit. Take his recent botched United States title program for instance.
Ziggler relinquished his Championship the night after he won it, creating curiosity and buzz across the WWE Universe. He returned with no fanfare at the Royal Rumble and eventually ended up participating in the 'Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal' at WrestleMania 34.
The heart of the matter
McIntyre addressed the WWE Universe after his victory and spoke about how the current locker room lacks the fire and ambition of the past. He said that the talent of today was just content on collecting cheques and that he was just the wake-up call that WWE needed right now.
Ziggler then addressed the WWE Universe and said the following ominous words:
"We don't give a damn about stealing the show because this, this right here, this is The Show."
What's next?
It will be interesting to see if Ziggler and McIntyre go after whoever captures the vacant RAW Tag Team Championships in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It certainly is a strange pairing and a big departure for McIntyre, who's been a babyface through his NXT run. Whether they're the new incarnation of Shawn Michaels and Diesel remains to be seen!
Author's take
I'm not a big fan of the name. If this is indeed the name they're using as a unit, I must say I am disappointed.
So, is the Big Show a bigger version of this tag team?
