From the WWE Rumor Mill: The Big Show's contract with WWE has now expired
What's the story
This time last year the Big Show revealed when his contract with WWE ran out, indicating that his deal with WWE would end February 2018. It is now March 1st, meaning that technically Show is now a free agent.
In case you didn't know...
The Big Show recently had a fantastic series of matches with Braun Strowman, which culminated in Strowman Power Slamming Show through a steel cage, which effectively wrote him off of television
This was because he was dealing with an injury and has since been rehabbing and training to get back into shape. It has to be said that it looks like Big Show, whose real name is Paul Wight, might be getting into the best shape of his life.
The heart of the matter
Big Show's Instagram and Twitter activity indicates that he is training for a return with the words "Giant return coming soon" used. However, if he does so it might not be with the WWE unless he's offered a Legend's contract, which seems the most likely outcome.
This contradicts reports from Sports Illustrated suggesting that Big Show wanted to retire like Mark Henry and go into retirement quietly with no fuss, pursuing other projects outside of the WWE but possibly working as a backstage agent.
What's next?
It's impossible to tell what's next for Show, he seems incredibly healthy and fit at the moment and looks like he has another WWE run in him but it all depends ultimately on whether or not that's what he'd want. His social media activity suggests he does want to return, but we'll have to wait and see.
Author's take
If we truly don't see the Big Show, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Paul Wight for all of the years of entertainment he's provided on behalf of all of us here at Sportskeeda.
