From the WWE Rumor Mill: The Undertaker spotted in Philadelphia before Royal Rumble 2018
What’s the story?
Thousands of fans are filing in for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view this Sunday and the two stars seen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania may foreshadow some big moments in the Rumble matches.
Several sources have reported that The Undertaker and Michelle McCool were spotted in Philadelphia.
In case you didn’t know...
The rumors surrounding The Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania have suggested that The Deadman will return to the ring for another big match. His opponent is rumored to be John Cena and the Royal Rumble match could be how this feud is kicked off.
The heart of the matter
The report was originally published by PWInsider and said that the couple were seen flying into Philadelphia last night.
With both wrestlers spotted in the city, the chances of at least one of them making an appearance at the Royal Rumble is much greater, but whether both of them make onscreen appearances or compete in the Royal Rumble matches remains to be seen.
The Undertaker’s rumored WrestleMania match with Cena caused many to believe that both men would have a confrontation on the 25th Anniversary of Raw, but Cena’s only confrontation on the show was with Elias at the Barclay’s Center and The Undertaker remained at the Manhattan Center.
Despite the lack of interaction, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that The Undertaker could wrestle or get involved during the Royal Rumble match, but that was speculation based off a reported idea pitch.
The Undertaker could just be accompanying McCool, who the company reportedly reached out to regarding the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
McCool was regarded as one of the best wrestlers during the Diva’s Division and her resume speaks for itself. Not only was the All-American Diva the first woman to win the Diva’s Championship and the Women’s Championship, but she became the first and only Unified Diva’s Champion in WWE History.
What’s Next?
The intrigue surrounding the Royal Rumble is continuing to grow and all answers to these questions will be revealed this Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center.
