From the WWE Rumor Mill: Top Ring of Honor tag team possibly heading to WWE
What's the story?
During the recent Ring of Honor television tapings, former ROH Tag Team Champions War Machine hinted at a possible exit from the company, and it has since been speculated that the duo of Hanson and Raymond Rowe could possibly be heading to the WWE.
In case you didn't know...
The team of Warbeard Hanson and Raymond Rowe, collectively known as War Machine, are currently one of the best tag teams on the entire planet. War Machine are mostly known for their work with Ring of Honor and also New Japan Pro Wrestling, where they have won the IWGP Tag Team Championships on two different occasions.
War Machine has also wrestled for numerous top promotions such as Pro Wrestling NOAH, RPW, Progress Wrestling, PWG, ICW and much more. Hanson and Rowe are also former WCPW, BCW, and VIP Wrestling Tag Team Champions.
The heart of the matter
During Saturday night's Ring of Honor tapings, former two-time IWGP Tag Team Champions War Machine were in action against the team of LSG and Shaheem Ali (known as the Coast to Coast) in a match where Hanson and Rowe were on the losing side. However, following their loss to C2C, War Machine decided to bow to the ROH crowd as they made their exit.
On the other hand, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer also reported back in July that WWE seemed to be interested in signing War Machine and were waiting until Hanson and Rowe's ROH and NJPW contracts had expired.
What's next?
War Machine maybe finished with ROH but the news on their possible departure has not yet been confirmed. The duo of Hanson and Rowe have are also yet to reveal any sort of information regarding the situation. However, the WWE Universe could potentially witness the arrival of one of the best tag teams on the planet in 2018.
On the other hand, Raymond Rowe is also engaged to Smackdown Live's Sarah Logan and it would make complete sense for Rowe (along with Hanson) to jump ship to WWE. However, during the recent World Tag League finals NJPW announcer Kevin Kelly said that War Machine will return to Japan in 2018 and will once again make their presence felt in the NJPW tag team division.
Author's take
War Machine will surely be a great addition to the NXT roster, but in my opinion, there is absolutely no need for Hanson and Rowe to sign with the WWE and I, personally, would like to see them stay with NJPW on a long-term basis.
