From the WWE Rumor Mill: Truth behind John Cena's promo about The Undertaker revealed

Here's the truth about Cena's Undertaker promo
Here's the truth about John Cena's Undertaker promo

What's the story?

John Cena is convinced that for the first time in years, he has no real road to WrestleMania. He addressed his loss at the Elimination Chamber in a promo on RAW, and even teased a match with The Undertaker.

According to Wrestling Observer, as reported by Cageside Seats, the whole purpose of the promo was to make the WWE Universe think that the Cena vs. Undertaker match had been shelved for good. Cena is currently contesting for the WWE Championship.

In case you didn't know...

John Cena has been the cornerstone of WWE in the modern era. However, he is convinced that even he does not have a road to WrestleMania, since he came up short at the Elimination Chamber.

He mentioned a match with The Undertaker, much to the delight of the WWE Universe on RAW recently, but then subsequently went on to mention that the match would never happen.

The heart of the matter

So the rumour is that the match, at least at the time of the promo, was still scheduled to take place. In fact, the whole purpose of the promo was to throw the WWE Universe off the track, and make it seem like this dream match would never take place.

The rumour does not go on to speculate whether this match has been called off or is still on the card, but the predominant belief is that the Undertaker vs. John Cena program will take place on SmackDown Live following WWE Fastlane, leading into WrestleMania where the two men will battle.

What's next?

John Cena is part of a 6-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship, at this point in time on SmackDown Live. He defeated AJ Styles for the spot. Will he become the 17 time Champion at Fastlane?

Author's note

I'm making no real predictions. I'm going to sit back and watch like the rest of you, and see if The Undertaker vs. John Cena is on the cards.

Even if it is not, I'm convinced that John Cena won't be left off the WrestleMania 34 card.
