From the WWE Rumor Mill: Two huge matches advertised for Monday Night Raw
What’s the Story?
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw will be the final show before the No Mercy pay-per-view and the WWE could have two big matches lined up for the go-home show.
Local advertisements in San Jose, California are suggesting that Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Bálor and Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns could take place on Monday Night Raw.
In case you didn’t know...
Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt are scheduled to fight each other at No Mercy, but Reigns and Strowman both have matches booked against John Cena and Brock Lesnar respectively.
Both Cena and Lesnar are reported to be missing Raw this Monday and ticket sales are said to not be strong according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The heart of the matter
Since Reigns and Strowman won’t have their opponents to work with on Monday, there’s a chance this match could close out the show to see which man gets some major momentum heading into their pay-per-view match, but that is pure speculation.
When the WWE only has matches advertised locally for Raw and SmackDown, they sometimes end up being exclusive to the fans in attendance so there’s no guarantee that these matches will make it to television.
The biggest reason to doubt that these matches will make it to TV is due to Wyatt and Bálor already being booked for the pay-per-view. Thus, giving away the rematch on TV would seem counterproductive considering that this matches’ storyline is about Bálor not using the Demon King Gimmick.
What’s next?
Tune in to Raw on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, to see what occurs with these two matches and whether or not they’ll make TV.
If the matches are occurring during Raw, then WWE will more than likely make an announcement on social media or their website.
Author’s take
If those matches aren’t just for the San Jose fans, then Monday Night Raw could be in store for some interesting encounters.
