What’s the story?

On a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, two possible title matches for WrestleMania 34 were revealed.

Apparently, the WWE United States title will be defended in a Triple Threat Match. Besides, the two Superstars who’re likely to face off for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship have also been revealed.

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE’s biggest annual event, WrestleMania, features the promotion’s top Superstars compete for glory in their respective storylines—some of which involve a WWE title being at stake.

The WWE has already confirmed several matches including that for the WWE Championship, Universal title, and WWE Intercontinental title to name a few.

The heart of the matter

The Observer noted that the WWE United States Championship is set to be defended in a Triple Threat Match that will have reigning titleholder Randy Orton face Bobby Roode and, Jinder Mahal. As previously noted, Roode has chosen to exercise his rematch clause for the US title at WrestleMania 34, thereby inserting himself in the US title matchup on the ‘Mania card.

Additionally, Mahal, who defeated Roode on last week’s episode of SmackDown Live, is now set to be added to the US title match that’ll take place at WrestleMania—with the WWE likely to confirm the same on next week’s edition of SmackDown Live.

Furthermore, Cedric Alexander is likely to compete against Mustafa Ali in the Cruiserweight Championship tournament finals at WrestleMania 34. Alexander defeated Roderick Strong earlier this week on 205 Live earning the spot in the finals.

Meanwhile, experts believe that Mustafa Ali is set to beat Drew Gulak on next week’s edition of 205 Live and face Alexander, in the Cruiserweight Championship tournament finals at WrestleMania. The Observer emphasized that Ali vs. Alexander has always been the plan since the Cruiserweight Championship tournament was first booked for WrestleMania 34.

What’s next?

Fans can expect United States Champion Randy Orton vs Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal to be confirmed by the WWE next Tuesday on SmackDown Live, in addition to Mustafa Ali vs Cedric Alexander being confirmed for ‘Mania on next week’s 205 Live.

The WWE’s WrestleMania 34 PPV takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 8th.

Author’s take

Well, given the huge push Jinder Mahal received last year, it’s a great move on part of the WWE to book him in a key title fight on “The Grandest Stage Of Them All”.

Meanwhile, the WWE has a potential breakout star on its hands in the form of Mustafa Ali, who has been making waves for his social media promos as of late…that’s not to mention his incredible athleticism.
